Wildflowers Signs in Beacon Hill Park

There are 3 large wildflower signs created by the Friends of Beacon Hill Park in the area along Circle Drive between the Petting Zoo and the Totem Pole. You can use the signs to help you learn about the flowers that are currently blooming in the meadow.

Birds of Beacon Hill Park

To check out what birds you might see in Beacon Hill Park, we have updated the bird check list. This covers two periods of the year when we do an inventory of the birds. Let's hear from you about other birds when you see them in Beacon Hill Park or on the surrounding waterfront. Click here for details. If you are interested in the birds of nearby Clover Point, clear here for a copy of the article from the April 2007 FBHP Newsletter.

Dr T. Christopher Brayshaw Obituary

We are deeply saddened to report the death of our long-time Botanical Advisor Chris Brayshaw who passed away in December 2014. We spent many happy hours with him in the park that he so loved. He patiently attended many meetings of the Friends and assisted us with many of the the challenges that the Friends have faced over the years. Click Chris Brayshaw Obituary for the complete text of his obituary. We thank Helen Oldershaw and his other close friends for this tribute to an amazing man. For a photo of Chris enjoying lunch with Grant Keddie and Adolf Ceska at Camas Day 2002, click Camas Day with Friends. These three spent many Camas Days sharing the park with all the participants.
